Services for Veterinary professionals
Referring a behaviour case
Nick is proud to offer an independent veterinary behaviour service for primary veterinary practices. Having worked for many years as a GP vet before focusing on behaviour, he understands the realities and pressures of general practice and is committed to providing a clear and straightforward referral process for you and your clients.
Nick works on a referral only basis from primary veterinary surgeons. He takes a collaborative approach with general practices, recognising that many behavioural conditions may have an underlying medical component. He supports practices in managing these often complex and challenging cases and in their ongoing treatment.
Nick offers in person consultations across Manchester, Cheshire and the surrounding areas, as well as remote consultations throughout the UK. He works peripatetically, visiting clients in their homes, at clinics, and online nationwide.
All behaviour packages are offered at a fixed cost, with clear and transparent pricing outlined on our website. In more complex cases, additional follow on consultations may be recommended to ensure ongoing care, and this is always discussed clearly with clients from the outset.
Advice requests

We offer an advice request service to support primary care veterinary surgeons in managing behavioural cases within general practice. This service is particularly helpful when a full behavioural referral is not immediately feasible, such as due to financial constraints, or as a valuable initial step before progressing to formal referral.
Following a review of the submitted case history, we provide a written report that includes:
-
An initial assessment of relevant risk factors.
-
Key differential considerations.
-
Practical behavioural first aid and initial management advice.
-
Recommendations for further assessment and next steps.
-
Advice on whether comprehensive behavioural referral is indicated.
This service is designed to assist clinical decision-making in first-opinion practice and does not replace a full behavioural referral for a comprehensive behaviour assessment.
If a case subsequently proceeds to a comprehensive behavioural assessment within three months of the advice report, the advice fee will be credited against the consultation package fee.

In practice CPD talks
Behaviour cases are becoming increasingly common within general practice, and owners are turning to primary care teams for guidance on managing these complex and challenging cases. Nick aims to support all members of the veterinary team in developing a better understanding of behavioural cases and their management, and offers in person CPD tailored to practice needs. Please contact Nick for availability and pricing for continued professional development.
